Rotala Colorata
Assumes an especially intensive light red to orange red colour, especially if it is under good light. The leaves are narrow lineal.
This plant was introduced with the name Rotala sp. ‘Colorata’ and is apparently a form of the very variable species R. rotundifolia. There are several forms of R. rotundifolia in trade that attain a more or less intensive red colour when cultivated submersed, e.g. the plants erroneously sold under the name “Rotala indica”. R. rotundifolia ‘Colorata’ turns a reddish hue even under moderate light. Under strong light it develops a pretty red coloration.
