Fancy Guppies

What is nice about Aquascape is that they know that a Guppy should never be alone. And for Guppies in groups, there should be multiple females (at least a pair) for one single male (in order NOT to tire the female since if only one, the male will continuously follow it around with no other female to distract it). That’s why they sell it in Trio (One Male for every Two Females). I made two orders and was expecting only 6 guppies. But as usual, they gave a FREE female for a total of two males and five females. And they also gave free plants (floating and rooted stems) which I will add in the Glass Jar that I just cycled by adding Denitrifying Bacteria in the Ceramic Ring Biologic Media underneath the substrate. TIP: since I don’t have a filter in the Glass Jar (located outside in our Balcony) for the Guppies, a thick substrate (like 4-6 inches of fine white gravel) with lots of plants will promote both aerobic and anaerobic beneficial bacteria (Walstad Method of a Balanced self-sufficient Aquarium) acting as “natural” filters. All I need to do afterwards is add drops of Liquid Fertilizer (Macro & Micro) weekly to replace those lost with bi-weekly 20% Water Change (Tom Barr method of Estimative Index).
