Ramshorn Snail (Rams-Horn Snails)
Ramshorn Snails (Rams-Horn Snails) are rare-looking snails that look magnificent in any tank. The circular design of their shells make for a dazzling creature slowly cleaning up your tank from unwanted leftover food by your other tank creatures.
As an aquarist, I personally have them in my tanks but do take note that assassin snails love to feed on them – so better not put both together in one tank.
Our Ramshorn Snails are bred in captivity so they are clean, healthy and very hardy.
Getting 2 to 3 of these snails should be enough for you as they populate very quickly. Make sure you don’t have a lot of leftover food in your tank if you want to control their population.
Nice snails. Cute as in “just the right size”, adorable and not overwhelmingly big. I just hope my slightly high GH & KH will offset my slightly low pH of 6.4-6.8 since they like alkaline water better. At least maybe that will control their reproduction to “pest level”, just enough for them to eat excess algae & dead organic matter but not enough for them to die of starvation. I also hope my liquid fertilizer (Calcium) will be enough to sustain the health of their shells. If they start cracking or if I see them eating each other’s shell, I might need to add coral shells just to provide for their nutritional needs. Again as usual, they came with many freebies. Thanks so much AquascapePH.
